Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has named Jordi Alba as his best friend at the Camp Nou after the exits of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta.

The Argentine has always played alongside the Spanish duo before leaving the club to join Asian club sides.

Iniesta joined Japanese side Vissel Kobe after leading the Catalans to a double last term while Xavi signed for Al Sadd in Qatar in 2015.

However, their departure left Messi to pick a new friend at the club, and Alba is the man that fits the cap.

"Andrés and Xavi are unique," Messi told the Barcelona website.

"They made the game more colorful and brought more possession."

Messi further revealed that: "Jordi Alba knows me to perfection. He knows when I will give him a no-look pass. I have a special connection with him."

According to Dailymail, Alba also graduated from the La Masia after which he left to gain first team experience.

The 29-year-old made a name for himself at Valencia before moving back to his boyhood club in 2012.

Messi also praised Uruguayan Suarez, who has become an essential part of the side since his arrival in 2014.

"He brings a lot to me and to the rest of the team," he said.
