The English Language paper earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 22, has been postponed by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Legit.ng gathered that this was revealed by the examination body on its Twitter handle @waecdirect, after a candidate made enquiry if truly the examination had been postponed.
In response to the candidate's tweet, WAEC tweeted: "English Language papers will be written on September 29, 2018. Please, go to our registration site (registration.waecdirect.org) and download the timetable.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that an investigation by a newspaper revealed how some candidates sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) perfected the art of getting cheap grades through some websites which obtain questions before the start of exams.
The newspaper reported that some of the result-peddling websites include: Naijaclass.com, Examcrown.com, Examsort.com, Waecexpo.com and Guruslodge.com.
The findings revealed that while some of the sites demand telephone recharge cards to send a link to the answers of the exam and N800 for direct answers to phones, others demand N800 to send the answers directly to candidates’ phones.
Also previously reported by Legit.ng was that the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad arrested four suspects in Ondo, Edo and Osun states for selling leaked WASSCE May/June, 2018 examination question papers on websites and Whatsapps platforms.
The arrested suspects were Samuel Kayode, 28-year-old from Ondo state; Adebayo Ifeoluwa, 17-year-old from Osun state; and Alayande Ahmed and Elusode Festus, 20 years from Edo state.
