Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai, at the weekend called on some aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who fail to get the tickets of the APC in the forthcoming primaries of the party not to resign.
Daily Trust reports that Governor El-Rufai disclosed that their support would be needed to enable the party win the general elections.
The governor who made this known while speaking at the state APC Emerging Youth Summit 2018, reminded the aspirants that only one person would win in each of the primaries.
He further explained that by supporting the party to win, the aspirants were also paving way towards getting appointments in government.
El-Rufai said he had no preferred candidate among those aspiring for elective positions, adding that whoever won the party’s ticket during the primary election would be supported by the party in the state.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Governor Nasir El-Rufai said he was not bothered about the second term in office, stressing that posterity will judge him on his ongoing efforts to transform the state.

The Kaduna governor stated this while delivering the maiden public lecture of the Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, titled “Governing Justly: Perspectives From Near and Far With Lessons From Nigeria”,
El-Rufai reiterated that he is taking well-grounded decisions that would stand the test of time, not distracted by 2019 re-election.
