The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has advocated for both the government and the people to adopt sincerity in resolving the problem in Zamfara state.
A leader of the association, Arch Ibrahim Agege, at the town hall meeting, organised by the Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace (IDFP), called on the government to create a level-playing field for all Nigerians, including herders, Leadership reports.
He called for sincerity of purpose, saying both the government and the people know the way out of the crisis.
Speaking at the event, a representative of the Hope Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, Mallam Abubakar, called on the to work together with the goal of finding a lasting solution to the crisis in the state.
“For peace to be restored in the state, the government and our monarchs must work together in sincerity in order to stave off further killings. Our religious leaders must preach peace and teach their followers the need to embrace dialogue in resolving conflict,” he said.

In another report, the Nigerian Army at about 11.00 am on Sunday, September 16, killed some Boko Haram terrorists, who ambushed troops of of 21 Brigade along the Maiduguri-Bama axis of Borno state.
The troops led by a Brigade commander were on a clearance patrol in support of Operation Rainbow, when they were ambushed by the terrorists.
This was disclosed in a series of tweets from the Twitter handle of the Army, @HQNigerianArmy, adding that there was “serious exchange of gunfire.”
Guns and several rounds of ammunition belonging to the terrorists were recovered, and troops are still in search of terrorists who escaped with gunshot wounds.
