Cristiano Ronaldo struck twice to power Italian League champions Juventus to 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in Sunday's Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium.

The Portugal international had endured dry start to his campaign at his new club having gone three matches without a goal.

His first goal of the game in the 50th minute and doubled his side's lead 15 minutes after to maintain their 100% start to the season.

The 33-year-old after opening his goal account at the club with a brace revealed that he was already getting anxious after going three games without a goal.

His opener according to the Sun was his 28th shot attempt of the campaign, and he has expressed his delight at scoring in front of his home fans.

"I was a little bit anxious as expectations were high. I really wanted to score, so I'm happy," Ronaldo said after the game.

"Of course, there was attention after my arrival in Turin, but life is like that.

"I'm happy. I'm working well and my team-mates help me to adapt to this championship."

Ronaldo then turned his attention to Wednesday's Champions League tie against Valencia, as he looks to fire Juve to their first European title since 1996.

He added: "It is the competition I love most, we hope to have luck, it will be a difficult group, but I cannot wait." earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo opened his goal account for Juventus in their 2-1 win over visiting Sassuolo.

He gave his side the lead in the 50th minute while his second goal came 25 minutes to the end of the encounter as Khouma Babacar's late minute goal was a mere consolation.

The Old Lady are currently on a four-match winning streak as they are top of the table with 12 points after four games.
