All women that lost 'maidenhood' before marriage should go back home - Nigerian man says

It was customary for women to get married to their husbands as untouched maidens in the old days. There was a time when the couple had to show proof of the wife's purity on their wedding night.

According to tradition in some parts of Nigeria, the couple were compelled to sleep together for the first time on a bed with white bedspread. After the first night, they were expected to show proof of wife's purity from blood stains on the sheet.

Despite the fact that traditions such as that are no longer common, some Nigerian men and women still believe that a woman should marry as an untouched maiden.

A Nigerian man who believes in this tradition has taken to social media to express his opinion. The young man identified as Tayo Dotun Anuife shared a post on Facebook, talking about women who don't marry as maidens.
