- Reports have revealed why Manchester United will not sell Martial
- The 22-year-old has been unsettled at Old Trafford under Mourinho
- The French striker has only played 60 minutes in all competitions
Premier League side Manchester United have revealed that selling Anthony Martial will give 50 per cent of the profits to Monaco.
According to SunSport, Monaco are due half of any profit meaning United would have to flog Martial - whose contract can be extended up until June 2020 - for upwards of £100m to make just £30m on the goalscorer.
Ed Woodward does not see any value in allowing Martial join an European club and will not sanction a sale to a Premier League rival after crunching the numbers.
Despite the financial concerns regarding Martial, United's top brass still believe they have a potentially world-class player on their hands.
And a January loan to a foreign club could be an option in order to hand Martial some much needed game time and protect their asset.
United's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has played the France international for just 60 minutes in all competitions this season.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Inter Milan are keeping an eye on the situation as the 22-year-old has only made an appearance against Brighton this term.
But despite the Frenchman not being part of Mourinho's plans, Woodward and the United money men want to him to remain at Old Trafford.
Martial cost United £44.5million from Monaco and with further clauses yet to be activated that could push the fee as high as £57.6m.
Martial arrived at Old Trafford with plenty of hype under Louis Van Gaal but his compatriot Kylian Mbappe has stolen the spotlight after his success with Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team.
He has scored 36 goals in 137 games for the Red Devils but missed out on Didier Deschamps World Cup-winning squad in Russia.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly opened talks with the club over a contract extension despite being out of favour.
The 22-year-old has endured a tough year since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
