La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly planning to land Atletico Madrid attacker Saul Niguez.

The 23-year-old has been impressive for Los Rojiblancos since he made his senior debut for the club in 2012.

Although, he spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Rayo Vallecano where he scored twice in 34 appearances.

He also played a key role in his side's Europa League triumph last season scoring three goals in nine matches.

However, the Catalan club are hoping to trigger his £134 million and bring him to the Camp Nou as they hope to win the Champions League and other domestic titles this term.

Dailymail quoting Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claims that Saul attracted Barca's attention following his impressive display for Spain in their victories over England and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

Meanwhile, Barca will have to battle with the player's release clause and his long term contract which expires in 2026.

He was an unused substitute all through his country's campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup but seems to be a key member of Luis Enrique's side. And might be a good replacement for Andres Iniesta who retired after Russia 2018. previously reported that Chelsea turned down a £50 million mega deal offer from Spanish champions Barcelona for the signing of Willian.

The 29-year-old midfielder was superb last season for the Blues helping them to win the FA Cup title as they defeated Manchester United in the final.
