- PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus, has accused security agencies and INEC of plot to rig 2019 election
- Secondus said the APC is plotting to use INEC and security agencies to rig the general elections
- According to him, more Nigerians have been killed in the last three years
The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies of colluding with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the 2019 general election.
Secondus said he does not trust the INEC to organise a free and fair election without the interference of the ruling party.
According to a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Secondus said this on Wednesday, September 13, while receiving officials of the European Union at thePDP's headquarters, Wadata House in Abuja.
Secondus said: “Our major concern is that INEC and security agencies are working hand in hand to rig the election for the APC. What they did in EKiti state in July and are still preparing to repeat in Osun on September 22, is enough evidence that they are not ready to conduct free, fair and credible elections
“The chairman of INEC Prof Mahmud Yakaubu should go beyond verbal promises and put into action credible and practical processes for election.
“This government has divided the country, borrowed over N11 trillion yet hunger is ravaging our people as the economy slides. Records shows that more Nigerians have been killed in the last three years than during the civil war yet the government remains insensitive to the situation."
