Rashford reveals he will fight for his place in Manchester United's starting XI

- Marcus Rashford has said he will prove himself at Manchester United

- The 20-year-old striker is currently in good scoring form for England

- The academy graduate will be missing in United's trip to Watford

In-form England striker Marcus Rashford has said he is determined to fight for his first-team place at Manchester United.

But the United academy graduate will have to make a tough decision if he fails to earn a place in Jose Mourinho's starting line up.

A United source said: “Marcus loves the club and does not want to move but he wants to be a striker or at least play down the middle as a No 10.

“He is not going to give up trying to prove himself at United but he knows he may have a big decision to make soon.”

The 20-year-old has only started one of the Red Devils' opening four Premier League fixtures and has been handed a three match ban following his red card against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Rashford will have just a year left in his contract and former England defender Jamie Carragher has told him to quit rather than start from the bench.

After Rashford scored against Spain and Switzerland, Carragher added: “I don’t see Rashford ever displacing Lukaku so long as he is there.

“Everton is a club where someone like a Rashford knows he can play every week.

“Last season, he played poorly against Brighton, Mourinho had a pop at him and Lukaku went straight back in the next game. That is the problem he will always have.”

The Three Lions coach Gareth Southgate admitted he wants the player to get more game time at United but admitted: “It’s not my business to interfere with club managers.”

Mourinho's side will be looking to end Watford's perfect start in the new campaign in a Premier League match set for Vicarage Road.

Rashford will be serving his three-match ban for head-butting Phil Bardsley and he is expected to return in October against Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is reportedly wanted by Premier League top clubs Everton and Chelsea.

The 20-year-old has been relegated to the bench since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January 2018.
