Terry turns down move to join Russian giants Spartak Moscow

Spartak Moscow bound John Terry has declined a move at the last minute to join the Russian side.

The former Chelsea star had trained with the club and was destined to sign a deal before turning down the move at the eleventh hour.

The ex-England captain took to his social media handle to announce he had thought it over the move with his family before making his decision.

The 37-year-old played a full season for Aston Villa in the Championships both could not help his side gain promotion last summer.

During his nine-year spell at Stamford Bridge, Terry won five Premier League titles with the London club, three of them under Jose Mourinho.

He also snapped one Europa League and Champions League trophies as captain of the Blues as well as five FA Cups.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that former Chelsea captain John Terry was caught keeping fit at the club’s Cobham HQ ahead of surprise switch to Russian side Spartak Moscow.

According to a UK Sun report, the defender was captured on camera in a Chelsea jersey, alongside the pair of ex-teammates Michael Essien and John Harley at the club's training ground.
