I've come to answer my people again - Katsina lawmaker says as he picks nomination form in Abuja

- A member of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, September 12, declared his ambition to re-contest for Dutsin-ma/Kurfi federal constituency

- Danlami Kurfi also picked his nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC national headquarters in Abuja

- Kurfi said he was re-contesting over the call by the people of his constituency to finish the good work started

The National Assembly member representing Dutsin-ma/Kurfi federal constituency, Danlami Kurfi, has declared his intention to re-contest in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

He obtained his expression of interest and nomination form at national headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shortly after picking his nomination form, Kurfi said his decision to re-contest was in response to call by people from his constituency.

Kurfi noted that his declaration to re-contest will pave way for the innovation and continuation of his laudable projects embarked in the constituency.

He said the second opportunity will also enable him conceive more Ideas to expand relevant health related and Youth empowerment programmes that will transform the socio-economic well being of the people of his constituency.

The lawmaker further appealed to people of Katsina state to support the sole candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari in the forthcoming 2019 general elections. He said the duo have contributed meaningfully in initiating and executing pro-people projects to the people of Katsina state.

He also appealed to APC supporters in Katsina state to galvanize support for President Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari to win the forthcoming election while urging eligible voters who had registered with INEC to go and collect their PVCs card dumped at electoral body's headquarters to avoid being disenfranchised.

In their response to the lawmaker's declaration, some of the people in his constituency also present at the APC headquarters expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for responding to their clarion call to re-contest his seat at the National Assembly.

A member of the Dutsin-ma/Kurfi constituent and beneficiary of the lawmakers benevolence, Ahmed Dutsinma, said they will continue to benefit from his assistance especially the lesprevillage if re-elected.

Also speaking, Aliyu Bala said, they decided to encourage the lawmaker to re-contest because they will find it difficult to get someone else who will have the capacity to continue assisting and empowering them like Muhammad Kurfi.

He therefore appealed to delegate to vote Kurfi during the ruling party's primary election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has said he does not have up to N20 million in his bank account to purchase the APC governorship nomination form which costs N22.5 million.

The governor made the statement on Monday, September 10, when some groups in Kaduna purchased the expression of interest and nomination form of the APC for the governor.

Among the groups are the Association of Cattle Sellers, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), NATO, and Sheikh Gumi Market Association.
