- The body of the late UN boss Kofi Annan is to arrive in Ghana, his country of origin, pending the funeral and final burial arrangements in the course of time

Earlier reported arrangements showed that the body of the late secretary-general of the United Nations (UN) would arrive the country on Monday, September 10.

The late globally respected diplomat is expected to be buried in his native country, Ghana, having died at the age of 80. As with any important occasion, it would seem the security at the Kotoka International Airport is on high alert.

Earlier, reported that Kofi Annan died at the age of 80 in the early hours of Saturday, August 18, in Switzerland.

Annan, who was born in Ghana in 1938, served as the seventh UN Secretary-General, from 1997 to 2006, and was the first to rise from within the ranks of the United Nations staff.
