Senator Shehu Sani on Monday, September 10, said he turned down the request of a group of youths to purchase his Senate nomination and expression-of-interest forms.
Sani said he turned down the offer because he didn't want to be in the league of that deceptive political tradition.
The senator representing Kaduna Central, in a tweet said a group of youth had approached him requesting him to announce the purchase of his nomination form but he declined the request.
Meanwhile, Sani alleged in another tweet that he refused to shed tears while submitting his nomination form against the advice of his political friend.
Recall that former vice president Atiku Abubakar wept over the challenges bedeviling the county as various groups bought and presented to him the expression of interest and nomination forms to contest presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.
Sani in a tweet said a friend gave him pepper and a handkerchief to rub on his face so as to shed tears ‘on the plight of the masses when collecting and submitting his nomination form.
According to him, he turned his friend down.
