China appoint Guus Hiddink as new Under 21 coach

- Ex Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink has been hired as China's Under 21 coach

- He has been given the mandate of qualifying the team for the next Olympics

- The last time China participated in the Olympics football was when they hosted in 2008

China have appointed ex Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink as their new Under 21 gaffer and he is expected to lead the team to the 2020 Olympics which will hold in Tokyo.

Since leaving the Stamford Bridge club in 2015 when he replaced Jose Mourinho, the 71-year-old Dutchman has not coached any other team since then.

Guus Hiddink is now the latest big manager that arrived in China as the country's president Xi Jinping wants his nation's football to develop and be reckoned with in the world.

In 2006, Guus Hiddink took Australia to the last 16 of the World Cup in Germany, and even before that tournament, he steered South Korea to third place at 2002 World Cup.

China have not taken part in Olympic football since 2008 when they hosted the games in Beijing, and Guus Hiddink has been given a task to deliver according to UK Sun.
