- Dave Mussard has emerged an internet hit after combining goalkeeping role with pastry chef
- The 31-year-old does not look like your average international goalkeeper
- He was in goal for Seychelles in their 3-0 defeat to Nigeria on Saturday
Despite conceding three times against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in last Saturday’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying match at home, Seychelles goalie, Dave Mussard is now an internet hit after emerging the 'biggest' player on the pitch during the tie.
According to a UK Sun report, the 31-year-old apart from playing for Seychelles national team, is also a pastry chef by day with Hotel Patatran on La Digue Island.
On daily basis, Mussard, usually spend about 15 minutes on the water as he cruises home after training sessions with the Pirates.
However, with his robust physique, the shot-stopper was captured on camera during the match and has circulated like wildfire across the social media handles as well as websites
At the last count, Mussard’s physique became the major talking point of interest among lovers of the game that had the privilege of keeping tabs on the 2019 AFCON qualifying tie.
Some of the supporters compared the shot-stopper with Real Madrid and Brazil legend Ronaldo, while others see Mussard as a bank official or as an academician.
Interestingly, Mussard is expected to be back in action on Thursday when the Pirates tackle South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the next AFCON game. The Pirates are currently rooted at the bottom of Group E log and will be hoping for a better performance against the 2013 hosts’ nation.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Nigeria picked up their first three point of the Cameroon 2019 AFCON qualifier with a 3-0 win over Seychelles.
Gernot Rohr's men produced a dominant display from the blast of the whistle as the Nigerian side attacked from all corners of the field. It did not take long before the Super Eagles World Cup hero Ahmed Musa shot Nigeria into the lead with a powerful shot that hit the post and then the keeper before the ball it went into the back of the net to make it 1-0 for Nigeria.
Chigozie doubled the advantage for Nigeria as Kelechi Iheanacho's free kick hit the post before the 21-year-old defender had an easy tap-in to make it 2-0.
Nigeria's third goal came in the second half after the Eagles best player of the match Samuel Kalu was fouled in the box. The resulting spot-kick was converted by Odion Igahlo with the coolest of finishes as Nigeria got back to winning ways after losing their first match to South Africa.
