Senate president Bukola Saraki has been accused of giving instruction to the electoral panel sent from national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abuja, to manipulate the results from Kogi west senatorial district's collation centre in favour of Senator Dino Melaiye.
Vanguard reports that the PDP held its ward congresses in the state to pick ad-hoc delegates on Saturday, September 8.
Legit.ng gathered that at it was reported that the entry of returned delegates for Kogi central and east went smoothly but Kogi west was said to be having challenge based on the interference of the Saraki to favour Melaye.
It was reported that Senator Dino Melaye did not show up at all for the ward congress but Saraki was alleged to have directed the panel to help include some names in favour of the Kogi west senator.
The chairman of the Kogi electoral panel who is from Kwara state, is said to be making fruitless efforts to include the names of the senator who were not present at the ward congresses.
The PDP's officials in Kogi state were, however, said to have vowed to resist the manipulations and instructions from Senate president, saying the impunity would be resisted.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that as the battle to unseat the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, by senators on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) thickened, it was learnt that their colleagues from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stormed Abuja to prevent the alleged plan.
The PDP senators are reportedly in Abuja to stop any of such plan against Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.
