Unconfirmed reports have it that Senator Joshua Dariye who is serving a 14 year jail term for alleged fund diversion, has bought his nomination and expression of interest forms to run for the Plateau central senatorial district seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A supporter of the former Plateau state governor, Monday Shadrack Kopmut, in a Facebook post on Saturday, September 8, shared photos of Dariye’s purported nomination and expressions of interest forms, which had already been filled.
“Just to notify all teaming supporters of our amiable senator Chief Dr Joshua C. Dariye, that the people’s senator has purchase & filled the APC nominations & declaration of interest to contest in the forthcoming APC primary election & 2019 general election to represent the good people of plateau central in the ninth assembly,” he wrote.
Senator Dariye was sentenced to 14 years in prison on charges of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of over N1.16bn belonging to the state while he was governor between 1999 and 2007.

As at the time of reporting, Legit.ng was yet to verify the authenticity of the forms claimed to have been purchased by the senator.
Meanwhile, the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), ahead of the 2019 elections, met with a presidential aspirant, ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in Abuja on Sunday, September 9, to discuss his programmes and policies for the country.
According to The Punch, the forum also extended an invitation to other aspirants including President Muhammadu Buhari to present their development blueprints and plans for the nation.
Legit.ng gathers that regional leaders at the meeting included Niger Delta leader, Chief Edwin Clark; President-General of Ohanaeze, John Nwodo; Afenifere chieftain, Chief Ayo Adebanjo; President, Middle Belt Forum, Dr Bitrus Pogu and a host of others.
