- Zinedine Zidane has been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford
- The Frenchman emerged as Mourinho's potential replacement after Manchester United's horrendous start to the new season
- He has now reportedly tabled a wish-list of four star players he wants to sign should he become United boss
Former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly compiled a list of four star players he will sign should he replace embattled Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford this season.
The Frenchman has been tipped to succeed the Portuguese tactician who is under-fire at the club following his poor start to the ongoing season.
Zidane won three Champions League titles for Los Blancos in the space of two and a half seasons before quitting his position at the end of last term, and has been favourite to take United to the next level.
The Mirror report that the 1998 World Cup winning star has told close friends that he is expecting a call from Manchester United amidst Mourinho's tribulations at the club.
Zidane is planning to sign Real Madrid duo of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara, and PSG ace Edinson Cavani.
Mourinho has been trying to sign Kroos and Rodriguez in the past season but their relationships with Zidane might help the Premier League outfit achieve their aim.
However, it remains to be seen if United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will grant Zidane his wish should he take over from Mourinho.
The former Real boss is said to have a burning ambition to manage in the Premier League and he would relish the chance of managing the Manchester club.
After working for the Real Madrid youth academy, the France legend made his managerial debut for Real Madrid after the Spanish giants sacked Rafa Benitez midway through the season in 2015-16.
Upon succeeding Benitez, Zidane won three-consecutive Champions League title with Real Madrid alongside numerous other trophies including one La Liga title.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United have relaunched their bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos this summer.
The Red Devils are planning to strengthen their squad following their poor performance in all competitions last term.
Having failed to win silverware in the 2017-18 season, United manager revealed he will sign some players to fortify his squad for competition next season.
