Spanish club Barcelona are reportedly ready to have serious talks with captain Gerard Pique over his off-field activities.

The La Liga champions fear the center-back has become distracted from football after becoming involved in a number of enterprises.

The 31-year-old runs a media business responsible for producing the Antoine Griezmann documentary that revealed the French star was snubbing a move to Barca to stay at Atletico Madrid.

That announcement raised caused a stir and also led to the Catalans’ club president Josep Maria Bartomeu having a quiet word the ex-Spanish defender.

Pique also found himself in fresh trouble after posing with his old team-mate Neymar at a recent sporting event.

The Catalan club were furious last year when the Brazilian left in controversial circumstances to join Paris Saint-Germain and become the world’s most-expensive footballer.

His other ventures outside of the game of football have seen Pigue become involved in plans to reform the Davis Cup in Tennis.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pique will have talks with the club over his growing interests in running his own personal business outside the game.

Reports claim Barca chiefs have no issue with the World Cup winner having business ventures but they want to remind him of his responsibility to uphold the club’s image.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Brazil star Neymar has reportedly asked Barcelona for a move back to Nou Camp - but the club has been unmoved with his plea.

The 26-year-old joined Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain last summer in a world-record £200million move.
