The Selecao doubled the lead in controversial circumstances just before half-time, as FFabinho was fouled in the box and a soft penalty was awarded which Neymar dispatched.

It was the Paris Saint-Germain striker's 57th goal in 91 appearances for Brazil as the Samba Boys coasted to a 2-0 win.

Tite said: "It was above my expectation, it did not have brilliance at all times, but the offensive opportunities are there.

Brazil will take on El Salvador on Tuesday, he said: "In the second game, there will be a greater opportunity for other athletes to start. Opportunity of some, responsibility to perform for others."
