Barcelona will host their fierce rivals Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the season on October, 28, at 3.15pm.

Los Blancos will be visiting the Catalan giants at the Nou Camp for the Sunday afternoon game, in the 238th competitive meeting between the arch-rivals.

As usual both sides will be desperate to claim bragging rights as they lock horns for the first time since the 2-2 draw in May.

Enersto Valverde's side have 70 wins in La Liga but Julen Lopetegui's men edge it thus far with 72, but Real have won just one of their last seven.

They each have both won their opening three La Liga fixtures this season but Barcelona have scored 12 to Real's ten and both sides have conceded twice.

The current La Liga champions walloped newly-promoted Huesca by 8-2 in their last weekend game at Nou Camp.

The European champions, meanwhile, saw off Leganes 4-1 thanks to Karim Benzema's double.

Another important factor of defeating title rivals in La Liga is that head-to-head takes the advantage over goal difference.

This means that if two sides are level on points come the end of the season, the team with the better record between them will finish higher.

With the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo La Liga rivalry over, Real Madrid will need a new man to step up to the mantle to take on the Argentina great.

So far Messi and Benzema lead the race for the Pichichi with four goals apiece, netting every 68 minutes on average, with Gareth Bale on three strikes.

Although Real Madrid failed to replace Ronaldo with another superstar after his £100million move to Juventus this summer but have won their opening three La Liga matches.
