Dorados de Sinaloa appoint Maradona as new coach

- Maradona has been appointed as coach of Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa

Mexican second division football club Dorados de Sinaloa have appointed Argentine legend Diego Maradona as their new manager.

The 57-year-old former Argentina coach was said to have being hired by the Mexican side as a replacement for Francisco Gamez who was kicked out of the club on Thursday, September 6.

Diego Maradona was also said to have been contacted by the Mexican club when the 2018 FIFA World Cup was going on before he finally agreed to join them this month.

Maradona's last club job was with Al-Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates which ended in April.

Dorados de Sinaloa was created in the year 2003, and Pep Guardiola who is current manager of Premier League champions Manchester City played for the club in 2006.

Earlier, had reported how Argentina football legend Diego Maradona offered to coach his national team for free after their failure at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

His desire comes eight years after the 57-year-old former Napoli star coached Argentina in which they were sent out of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa by Germany.
