Liberia have concluded plans to battle the Super Eagles in a friendly encounter on Tuesday, September 11, at the at the Samuel Keyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.
The match is part of the events lined up for retiring permanently the jersey number 14 worn by president George Weah during his playing days for the Lone Stars.
According to the ministry of youths and sports, the novelty match will also be attended by former stars who have won the same jersey before Weah, who is the only African to be crowned world best player.
Youth and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson revealed that Nigeria will parade the squad that participated at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
However, players like Chelsea star Victor Moses, Arsenal’s Iwobi, captain John Obi Mikel and other key players will miss the match as they did not travel with the team for this weekend’s qualifier.
He also added that the Nigerian delegation will arrive Liberia shortly after their Nations Cup qualifying match away to Seychelles.
Meanwhile, the entry to the stadium for the game next Tuesday has been declared free according to Wilson.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria's Super Eagles had their first training on Wednesday night ahead of their 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.
