16-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has completed a move to Premier League champions Manchester City from Shamrock Rovers.

Before moving to the Etihad stadium, the youngster was already playing first team football in Ireland, and Manchester City beat Chelsea and Spurs for his signature.

According to the report by Dailymail, the Etihad landlords paid the sum of £420,000 to sign the young goalkeeper.

But he is not expected to join Manchester City first team this season in the Premier League.

Gavin Bazunu played in the club's Europa League qualifiers for Shamrock Rovers although they were knocked out by Swedish side AIK.

This season, Bazunu has kept four consecutive clean sheets for Rovers as he made his debut for the club in June this year.

He has been capped by Republic of Ireland at U15 level and will join the likes of Ederson, Claudio Bravo, Daniel Grimshaw and Arijanet Muric at the Etihad stadium.
