NBA chairman reported killed in Enugu

- Emeka Agundu, the chairman of NBA for Obollo Afor branch in Enugu state, is dead

- Agundu died after about a month that he was shot by unknown gunmen

- The state police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, has confirmed the death of NBA chairman

The Enugu state police command has reportedly confirmed the alleged assassination of Emeka Agundu, the chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Obollo Afor for branch in the state.

Agundu was said to have recently shot by unknown gunmen at Obollo Afor to Nsukka local government area of the state. It was gathered that Agundu died on Sunday, September 2, from the gunshot injuries he sustained.

Vanguard reports that the police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the death of Agundu said “we are on the matter.”

It was also gathered that the late NBA chairman was a young lawyer who had his head heavily bandaged when he attended the valedictory court session in honour of late KC Nweze, a member of the NBA at Obollo Afor on Tuesday August 21.

A lawyer who pleaded anonymity said: “At the court session, he was escorted by armed policemen due to the earlier attack on him.”

Meanwhile, had reported that members of a deadly criminal gang accused of terrorizing some parts of Enugu state were declared wanted by the state police command.

The command’s spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement said members of the gang have reportedly killed some people in Ehamufu in Isiuzo local government area of the state where they have been operating.

Amaraizu gave the names of some of the suspects as Emmanuel Edeh from Ehamufu and Chibuike Odoh also from Mgbuji Ehamufu.
