Why Buhari was peeped at by 2 Chinese men in Beijing (photos, videos)

The news about the opening ceremony of the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing attended by President Muhammadu Buhari has taken over the internet.

It began with a photo of two Chinese men peeping through held back curtains at the president indicating he was a rare presence in the town.

The summit was said to witness the signing of drafted agreement for 13 different projects by both Nigeria and China.

Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s personal assistant on new media, tweeted a photo of the president seated among delegates during the meeting on Tuesday, September 4.

At the summit, the president, who also heads the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) appealed to the Chinese government to ease visa restrictions for investors and students from West Africa.

Meanwhile, in a video post, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna explained why he was in China. He is among a set of governors on Buhari’s delegation, with some senators and ministers.

Moreover, the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, is on the Nigerian delegation. She was in the company of some first ladies attending a separate China-Africa AIDS prevention and control meeting, hosted by Professor Peng Liyuan, Chinese First Lady.

On her Twitter handle @aishambuhari, Aisha posted a tweet of their handshake and a couple of photos with other delegates.

In an earlier post, Legit.ng had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Saturday, September 1, arrived Beijing, the capital of China, for the 7th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC2018).

The president left for Beijing on Friday, August 31, after meeting with German chancellor, Angela Merkel, in a meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
