Former Senate committee chairman on women affairs, Khairat Gwadabe, has revealed the reason behind her decision to join others to push for the removal of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
The Sun reports that the APC chieftain accused the former president of flouting the 1999 constitution, especially in the area of budget implementation.
Legit.ng gathers that while addressing newsmen on Tuesday, September 4, to formally declare her intention to run for the senatorial seat of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in 2019, also accused the former president of being selective in execution of projects.
She said: “Under president Obasanjo, he would say one thing and do another. He was selective in the implementation of the budget."
Stating the reason behind her decision to return to the Senate, she said: “FCT deserves better representation. Everywhere I go, people still talk about what I did as a senator. They still clamour that I should come back."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Nigeria's former president, Olusegun Obasanjo replied President Muhammadu Buhari over allegation that $16 billion was wasted on power project during his administration.
President Buhari had made reference to the allegation while receiving a delegation of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) at the presidential villa on Tuesday, May 22.
The president said: “One of the former heads of state between that time was bragging that he spent more than 15 billion American dollars, not Naira, on power. Where is the power? Where is the power? And now we have to pay the debts."
