World’s football governing body, FIFA have thrown out Real Madrid’s complaint of an illegal tapping up of their star player Luka Modric by Serie A side, Inter Milan.

According to a UK Sun report citing sources in Spain’s Gazzetta, revealed that FIFA after carrying a probe over the alleged transfer during the summer window, found the Italian side not guilty of any wrongdoing.

Before now reports coming out of the Spanish capital suggested that Inter chiefs went behind their Real Madrid's counterparts to try and persuade the Croatian playmaker that his future lies with the San Siro dwellers.

The Los Blancos were bitter over the manner Inter went about trying to force the move and decided to take the matter up with FIFA.

However, the body’s rules state that clubs are free to approach another player when they are in the last six months of their present contract.

The 32-year-old Modric, publicly, denied that he was in talks with the San Siro landlords and described the issue as “the greatest nonsense in history".

Thus the world footballing governing body, FIFA had to meet with all parties and after listening to Real Madrid, Modric and Inter Milan, they took a decision to close the case on Tuesday.

Interestingly, the Italian can move for the World Cup in future if they get a nod from Modric's representatives.

“The fact Inter Milan tried to sign him and Modric took it into consideration shows the influence Cristiano Ronaldo is already having on Italian football

“For whatever reason, Modric wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter.

“Let's see. I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy.
