Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has opened the lid on why he will not leave the club to play for another big team.

The Argentine captain has been with the Catalan giants since his was 13, and now that he is 30, Messi does not see himself leaving the Camp Nou.

The one-club-man stated that everything that revolved around his life all happened in the city of Barcelona, including setting up his family.

Messi said: "I have everything here. I've been here since I was 13, my whole life is here.

"I am on the best team in the world and the city, if it isn't the best, its one of the best in the world.

"I have a family here, my sons were all born in Catalonia. I have no reason to go anywhere else, for all these reason."

The Barca hitman who was on target twice in the 8-2 demolition of newly-promoted side Huesca at the weekend, was snubbed in this year's FIFA Best award.

However his rival Cristiano Ronaldo was selected alongside Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Real Madrid's Luka Modric.

But Messi's goal against Nigeria at the Russia 2018 World Cup could be shortlisted for the Puskas award together with Mohamed Salah's striker against Everton as well as Ronaldo and Gareth Bale's acrobatic efforts against Juventus and Liverpool respectively.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been excluded from the podium for FIFA's Best award after the final shortlists were leaked.

The Best Men's Player will not be won by the Argentine star this year, despite a magnificent season for the Catalan giants.
