The national working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are said to have taken into consideration the high cost of the party's nomination form and timetable for the 2019 general election.
Punch reports that the scheduled activities of the committee at the meeting which began on Monday, September 3, include reviewing the cost of the nomination fees and some other contentious issues.
The meeting chaired by the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, was adjourned to enable some members of the committee to attend a meeting of the NWC for the Osun state governorship election.
Also, a group supporters for President Muhammadu Buhari were at the national secretariat of the ruling party to support the direct primary mode of choosing the party’s candidates for the 2019 elections.
The group through its spokesperson, Yusuf Ardo, said: “We are Nigerians and supporters of this party, this is grassroots mobilisation for PMB/Osibanjo and we are not happy with the position of some of the governors and some of the National Working Committee members.

“We are in support of direct primaries; power must go back to the masses. We are tired of corruption and manipulation. They have been manipulating Nigerians and the masses; we cannot continue to support that idea."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that aspirants of the APC kicked against the high costs of nomination and expression of interest forms.
Some aspirants for various governorship, national and state assembly seats are on a collision course with the party’s leadership over the issue.
The aspirants are demanding a downward review of the fees which has been pegged at N55 million for the office of president; a figure much higher than that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is N12 million.
