It is arguable that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is known around the world. The woman who is a published author may not be known by some for her books, but she is known by many as a strong feminist who fights for what she believes.

The feminist attends different events to speak out for the female gender. Despite the fact that many recognize her as a feminist, there is no doubt that Adichie is a talented writer. She is also popular for her award-winning book Half of a Yellow Sun.

Adichie who is known for her stand on feminism seems to continue the fight of empowerment even through her fashion. The feminist has revealed that she wears Nigerian brands to public events.

She made the revelation in an interview with i-D's Candice Carty-Williams. According to her, she wears Nigerian designers in other to make a political statement.

The lady noted that she makes a political statement through her fashion in other to support an industry that is full of talent.

“I decided to use fashion as a kind of political statement, which is to say that I made the choice to wear mostly Nigerian designers to public events, because obviously I want to support an industry that’s full of talent, but also to make a case for how fashion can tell a story. Fashion and culture are intertwined in very interesting ways.”
