- Mauricio Pochettino will likely play Hugo Lloris on Monday night
- The Frenchman was arrested and charged on Friday night for drink driving
- The goalkeeper could likely lose the captain's armband to Harry Kane
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is expected to keep faith with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on Monday, August 27, against Manchester United after the France World Cup captain was arrested and ducked with drink driving.
According to a UK Daily Mail report, the 31-year-old who doubles as club and country captain is expected to face an internal disciplinary process at Tottenham despite his public apology, but is still expected to start against the Red United at Old Trafford.
Tottenham manager has previously shown harshness, for instance with Kyle Walker or Toby Alderweireld, when he detected that their dedication to the club had become unsteady, it is thought that on this occasion Pochettino will rally round his captain, with whom he has a close bond.
The fact that there were two further training sessions going into Monday's game and that Lloris' night out came four days before the United match are signals that the Frenchman will get the nod ahead of Dutch goalie Michel Vorm.
However, it is possible the World Cup winner will lose the captain’s armband, with Three Lions forward Harry Kane taking over the skipper’s responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that France and Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped by police in west London on Friday, August 24.
The 31-year-old World Cup winner spent seven hours in custody at Charing Cross police station before he was released on bail according to the report by UK Sun.
Hugo Lloris was arrested by the police in London at 2am after failing a roadside breathalyser test and will appear at Westminster magistrates' court on September 11.
