4 important things Osinbajo did before Buhari’s return from UK
President Muhammadu Buhari embarked on a 10-day vacation trip on Friday, August 3 after having notified the National Assembly in writing and transferred power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to act as the Acting President, as stipulated by the constitution.
In his capacity as the acting president, Osinbajo took some critical decisions, most of which attracted nationwide commendation from Nigerians.

1. The sacking of the former director general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura
Osinbajo on Tuesday, August 7, sacked the director-general of the DSS, Lawal Daura. Daura was sacked allegedly for his role in the invasion of the National Assembly complex by some operatives of the DSS.
2. Appointment of Acting DG of the DSS
Following the sacking of Lawal Daura as DG for breach of national security, Osinbajo appointed Matthew B. Seiyefa, the most senior director in the DSS, to act as director-general of the agency until further notice.
3. Directive on Overhaul of SARS
After years of persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human rights violations, Osinbajo on Tuesday, August 14, directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to immediately overhaul the management and activities of SARS.
4. Osinbajo signed three bills into law
Osinbajo signed into law three bills transmitted by the National Assembly, which are now Acts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The new laws are Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2018 and Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology (Science) Jos (Establishment) Act, 2018.

Legit.ng previously reported that Osinbajo said that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will continue to secure the country, upgrade its infrastructure and ensure that its wealth is not hijacked by a greedy few Nigerians.
Osinbajo gave this assurance on Tuesday, August 14, during a one-day working visit to Zamfara state where he was received by Governor Abdulaziz Yari.
