Nigerian soldiers ambush Boko Haram terrorists, kill 3

It was a major defeat for some members of the Boko Haram terrorist group after they ran into an ambush set by soldiers of the Nigerian Army along Banki Junction - Mayanti village in Bama local government area of Borno state.

Three insurgents were killed in the attack.

A statement by Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, the director of Army public relations, confirmed the success recorded by the soldiers.

The statement further said some weapons were recovered from the Boko Haram terrorists after the attack.

The Nigerian Army listed the items recovered from the insurgents to include:

a. Three AK 47 rifle.

b. 3 Magazines.

c. 32 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

d. One motorcycle.

e. Two Android phones.

“ Efforts are on by the troops to get the other fleeing members of the Boko Haram terrorists,” the statement said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigerian Army announced its plan to begin an annual training programme of "Operation Python Dance III" popularly referred to as Exercise Egwu Eke III in the southeast states.

The exercise which had its two previous phases, I and II, would take place in states' formations and units under the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.
