- Real Madrid eye a massive £36m bid for Liverpool flop Iago Aspas
- The Spaniard endured a difficult spell in the English topflight with a zero league goals
- Aspas is expected to fill the void created by Cristiano Ronaldo’s £99m exit
Champions League winners Real Madrid are considering a stunning bid of £36million for ex-Liverpool Spanish forward Iago Aspas.
According to a UK Sun report quoting sources in Spain the Galaticos are eager to sign the Celta Vigo ace who failed to score at Liverpool as the Reds let their title challenge slip against Chelsea in 2013-14 campaign.
The Los Blancos desperately want to seal up the vacuum created by Cristiano Ronaldo’s £99m switch to Serie A champions Juventus early this summer.
But with August 31 transfer deadline closing in Real’s chance of any meaningful signings are slimmer by the day.
At the moment, Los Blancos chiefs are considering activating Aspas release clause at Celta Vigo in a last-minute effort to bring in attacking addition, added the report.
Interestingly, since returning from his misadventure in the English topflight first with Sevilla on loan, then permanently to Celta Vigo - Aspas has been unrecognisable.
In fact, the Spaniard scored 55 La Liga goals in just 101 appearances for the club, and broke into the La Roja squad to the summer World Cup for the first time.
At the last count Aspas has now featured 13 times for Spain, scoring six goals - with his first coming against England at Wembley - and scored at the global football fiesta in Russia.
With his profile increasing by the day in Spain, Aspas could now switch to Real Madrid - now managed by ex-La Roja boss Julen Lopetegui, who gave him his first invite in the Spanish national team.
No doubt he has the qualities to function as back-up to Gareth Bale and Co, while his versatility on the pitch is another factor that will be beneficial to the Galacticos in the new season.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Financial Fair Play regulations could force Paris St-Germain to sell their Brazilian forward Neymar or forfeit their deal to make Kylian Mbappe's loan deal permanent.
UEFA will decide whether or not to sanction PSG for violating financial Fair Play rules which could bring Real Madrid closer to signing one of the two stars.
Los Blancos could reactivate negotiations with the Brazilian star even after the player has stated he wants to remain at Parc des Princes.
