Rescue Leah Sharibu as you jail looters - Attah tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged by a former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Obong Victor Attah, to rescue Leah Sharibu, the kidnapped Christian Dapchi schoolgirl, even as he plans to send more looters to jail.

Attah made the call at a media briefing in Lagos on Thursday, August 23, Punch reports.

Attah further called for Nigeria to be restructured; saying the country is doomed if this does not happen urgently.

Sharibu was one of the 112 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state. While others were later released, she was held because she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

I am really worried about Leah and her freedom from Boko Haram is very important to me. Leah did not renounced her religion, that I can assure you and we shall do everything with both the government and the international organisation to ensure she regain her freedom just like her colleagues that were reunited with her families," she said.
