Man United fans set to fly 'Ed Woodward out' plane banner as supporter unrest intensifies

- Furious Manchester United fans are demanding for the exit of Ed Woodward

- The fans are said to have lost patience with the United executive after failing to make key signings during the transfer window

- The protest banner will also be addressed to United's owners, the Glazer family

A section of Manchester United fans has reportedly chartered a plane to fly a protest banner over Old Trafford demanding for the resignation of club executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before United's trip to Burnley.

According to reports, the banner will also be addressed to club owners, the Glazer family, with The Sun asserting that it will read; ‘ED OUT – LUHG’ - initials for 'Love United, Hate Glazers'.

The fans had initially arranged to fly the banner over Old Trafford before the Monday night, August 28 match against Spurs.

However, concerns over flying a banner so late in the evening saw the supporters shelve their plans, pushing the flyover until next weekend.

Unlike their City rivals, Manchester United started their Premier League campaign dismally after securing a slim victory over Leicester City in their EPL opener at Old Trafford before suffering a humiliating defeat to Brighton last Sunday.

Be that as it may, United supporters have resolved to call for the head of Ed Woodward who they believe is responsible for the predicaments facing the club.

During the preseason tour in the US, United boss Jose Mourinho hit out at the club's top brass led by Ed Woodward for failing to make key signings including a much-needed centre- back.

The news to fly the protest banner comes just two days after former United captain, Gary Neville, accused Woodward of undermining Mourinho in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Mourinho is said to be battling to keep his dressing room together, with reports suggesting the former Chelsea tactician convened a crisis meeting on Wednesday, August 22 with his wards to iron out pressing matters.

The Turf Moor protest will be the first staged by United fans since a message calling for the axing of then-manager David Moyes in March 2014. earlier reported that Manchester United suffered first Premier League defeat last weekend following their 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The defeat was said to have gotten the manager furious and barely spoke his players after the loss.

However, despite the gloomy mood at the Amex, the former Chelsea handler is planning to see out his contract at Old Trafford.
