Gary Cahill set for loan move to Turkish club Galatasary

- Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is set for a move to Galatasary

- The 32-year-old has not played a match under Maurizio Sarri

- The English defender has just 12 months left in his contract

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is set to move to Turkish champions, Galatasary if an agreement is reached by both clubs, Turkish Football report.

Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia are locked in talks over the potential transfer as the Turkish club are keen to sign a central defender before the transfer window closes on September 1.

The Istanbul outfit missed out on signing Manchester City centre-back Jason Denayer this week after he joined Ligue 1 side, Lyon.

Denayer had spent last season on loan in Turkey, helping Galatasaray win their 21st Superlig title.

However the club are keen to tie up a deal for England international Cahill with a formal offer ready to be tabled.

The 32-year-old has just a year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and has not yet been offered a new deal with the club, despite making 43 appearances last season.

Cahill has not featured in either of The Blues’ opening two Premier League fixtures against Huddersfield and Arsenal but could be tempted by regular first-team football and Champions League football with Galatasaray.
