- Paul Scholes lashed out at Paul Pogba after Manchester United's loss to Brighton
- Scholes said the club lacked leaders and Pogba had a 'really poor game'
- Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has now taken offence, lambasting Scholes on Twitter
Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has responded to Paul Scholes claims following Manchester United's 3-2 defeat by Brighton.
According to the UK Daily report the club legend did not spare the French World cup winner after submitting that there is a 'lack of leaders' at the Red Devils current squad after their poor performance at the Amex Stadium last Sunday.
The former Three Lions midfielder represented the colours of the Old Trafford dwellers for almost two decades was very critical of Pogba display alongside his teammates.
The World Cup winner was again named United captain, for the second game in a role, due to the absence of Antonio Valencia, but he failed to deliver the goods, even though he netted a late consolation goal from the spot in the contest.
“There's a lack of leaders in the team,” Scholes told Optus Sport. “We thought Paul Pogba might be the ideal candidate to be that leader but he wasn't there today. He had another really poor game. He's so inconsistent.
“Pogba's playing the ball out of play, he's overhitting passes, he's hitting passes short, he's getting caught in possession.”
The Frenchman agent Raiola, however, took offence with the comments and uploaded a clever reply on Twitter on Tuesday morning, claiming there would be 'sleepless nights' if the Red Devils sold their club-record signing.
“Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten,” Raiola wrote. “Paul Scholes wouldn’t recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill. @paulpogba.
“Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club @paulpogba.”
Moments after Scholes mate and a member of 92 class Gary Neville responded to Raiola's tweets.
“Let’s hope @paulpogba leads his agent and shuts him up!,'" Neville responded on Twitter minutes later.
Interestingly, the exchange of words resurfaced amid a failed summer switch from United for the World Cup winner.
The French midfielder reports claim want to leave for Barcelona after Raiola secured personal terms with the La Liga champions valued at about £89.5million over five years.
The Red Devils, however, are keen to keep hold of the World Cup winner and record signing, whose relationship with club boss Jose Mourinho has not been the best for the last 12 months.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Manchester United captain Paul Pogba has criticized severely the attitude of the entire Red Devils squad members.
According to a UK Sun report citing sources at MUTV the Frenchman confessed that their poor attitude contributed to Brighton’s 3-2 win over Manchester United following up last season’s surprise 1-0 Premier League win at the same venue.
