Luis turns down Atletico Madrid's new deal as he looks to join PSG

- Atletico Madrid star Felipe Luis has turned down an offer for a new deal with the club

- He missed the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after suffering a terrible injury towards the end of last season

- The 33-year-old was part of the Atletico team that won the 2018 Europa League title in May

Brazil left back Felipe Luis is reportedly planning to dump his Spanish League side Atletico Madrid before the close of the summer transfer window

The former Chelsea star has just one more year on his current deal with the Europa League champions and does not have an intention of signing a new contract extension.

SunSport report that the La Liga giants have offered him new deals which he refused to accept, but Spanish publication El Mundo claims Paris Saint Germain have already made contact with Luis and have offered him a lucrative deal.

But they will have to convince Atletico to cash in on the former Chelsea man.

The Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order after starting their European Super Cup victory over Real Madrid on the bench with Lucas Hernandez preferred in his position.

Departing Atletico this summer could pose a problem for Simeone as his side's left back position will face shortage od personnel, after loaning Jonny to Wolves in the summer.

Luis made a remarkable recovery from a broken leg last season after fracturing his tibia in March.

Legit.ng previously reported that Atletico Madrid defender Felipe Luis missed out of Brazil squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia this summer.

The former Chelsea left back suffered a fractured fibula in his side’s 5-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday, March 15, in the Europa League round of 16 second leg clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Though his return date is yet to be known at the moment, the 32-year-old defender could also miss Los Colchoneros’ entire preseason ahead of the 2018-19 league campaign according to the Sun.
