David Silva cradles miracle son Mateo before facing Huddersfield

Manchester City star David Silva took out time to show case an extra-special mascot in the Citizens first home fixture of the campaign as he cradled miracle baby Mateo.

According to a UK Sun report the Poor Mateo was born after 25 weeks in December — but he looked the picture of health at the Etihad Stadium as the camera captured the touching family moment before the 32-year-old Silva took his place for the match against Huddersfield — and then went on to net a spectacular free kick in his 250th appearance for the Premier League champions.

The report further revealed that Mateo was released from hospital in May, after a five-month ordeal that saw Silva handed a compassionate leave by club boss Pep Guardiola.

Interestingly, Silva’s personal struggles over his poor son’s plight were well documented in the newly-released documentary, All or Nothing.

Footage from the documentary revealed how Guardiola used Silva's grief to motivate City squad members for their clash with Tottenham last season.

In addition Silva got a new tattoo inked on to his arm with a portrait of his son after being inspired by Mateo's battle for his life.

During the match proper the Champions were in top form and Sergio Aguero gave them the lead after 25 minutes following a superb assist by Ederson.

Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus increased Citizen’s lead on 60th minute mark before Aguero netted his brace after latching on to a mistake from Huddersfield goalie Ben Hamer.

Then Silva curled in a 30-yard free kick few minutes into the second stanza.

The Spaniard raced towards the byline in celebration and revealed the tattoo on the inside of his arm before panting a kiss on the image of Mateo.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is considering a potential £60 million bid in January for Wolverhampton Wanderers Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves.

According to a UK Sun report claim the 21-year-old Neves emerged a top target for Guardiola after the Spaniard lost the battle to sign Chelsea’s Jorginho in the summer.

And the former Barcelona manager has admitted he would look at splashing the cash again in the winter window – if the right man was available.
