The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), on Saturday, August 18, predicted morning thunderstorm over some states including Sokoto, Kebbi, Gusau and environs for Sunday, August 19.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) says NiMet made this known in its weather outlook by its central forecast office in Abuja.
It said that the thunderstorms would be expected over most parts of the northern region later in the day.
According to NiMet, day and night temperature in the region would be in the ranges of 27 and 32 degree celsius and 20 and 24 degree celsius respectively.
The report said NiMet also predicted thunderstorms over Minna, Bida, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau and Yola axis in the morning hours.
It said thunderstorms and rains are expected to affect most part of the central cities during the afternoon and evening hours.
The prediction also stated that day and night temperature in the region would be in the range of 27 and 31 degree celsius and 20 and 22 degree celsius respectively.
NiMet predicted morning rains over the southeast and its coastal cities, while the south west would be mostly cloudy.

The agency envisaged that rains over the south western and south eastern states, including their coastal areas during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency added that day and night temperature in the southern states would be in the range of 28- 30 degree Celsius and 21 – 24 degree celsius respectively.
