Nigeria legend Christian Chukwu insists Victor Moses is replaceable following his retirement

Ex-Nigeria defence ace and manager Christian Chukwu insists there is no tension over Victor Moses recent retirement from the Super Eagles stressing that the forward is replaceable.

According to a Goal.com report the 67-year-old Eagles legend while commenting on Moses decision to bow out says he is optimistic that the Nigeria will find a solid replacement for the Chelsea winger.

“He has made his decision and there is nothing we can do. We wish him good luck and all the best,” Chukwu was quoted as saying by Goal.

“We will miss him but we have to understand that he has made his decision. He is a man and we can’t force him to do what his mind does not want to do.

“I believe he is [replaceable]. If we don’t have someone immediately in the present Super Eagles, we will look for with time, with more opportunity to others.

Interestingly, the 27-year-old Moses while announcing his intention to retire from the Nigeria national team after six years on Wednesday, sighted family and club commitment.

At the last count, Moses who won the 2013 African Cup of Nations with Nigeria after waiting for 19 years played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments, scoring 12 times in 37-caps for the three-time African champions.

The Eagles are return to action with Moses next month for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Seychelles on September 8.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has announced his retirement from the Nigerian national team.

The Chelsea attacker made it known on his social media account that he will play no part wearing the green and white colours of Nigeria.

The 27-year-old joined the national team in 2012 after switching allegiance from England to Nigeria.
