Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has joined Italian topflight side Udinese in a €3.3 million from Turkish League side Bursaspor.
The central defender was impressive for the Super Eagles in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where the three time African champions crashed out at the group stage.
He also performed well for his former side during their preseason preparations, and also scored his side's first goal of the season in their slim defeat to Fenerbache in the Turkish Super League opener last weekend.
The 25-year-old, who spent just one season in Turkey played 32 matches and scored three goals for the Green Crocodiles in competitive encounters.
Udinese director of the technical area Daniele Pradè said on the club's official website that: "Ekong is a player with an important physical structure, skilled in the air game both in defense and offensive.
"We speak of an aggressive central defender, strong in contrast and with an excellent reading of the game: an instinctive thoughtful leader who always tries to play the ball, all of which are very well combined with the mister Velazquez game."
Legit.ng previously reported that Italian topflight campaigners Udinese have sealed a deal with Turkish side Bursaspor to sign Super Eagles defence ace William Troost-Ekong.
According to reports coming out of the Italy suggest Udinese reportedly offered €3.3m for Nigeria international who celebrates his 25th birthday anniversary next month.
Interestingly, Troost-Ekong who has three goals from 33 appearances for Bursaspor was severally linked with a switch to French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais before moving to Turkey from Gent in 2017.
