Manchester City star David Silva tattoos new baby picture Mateo on his arm

- Spain international David Silva shows off new tattoo on social media

- The 32-year-old inked the picture of his son Mateo on his arm

Manchester City superstar David Silva has taken to social media to show off his new tattoo.

The Spanish midfielder drew the picture of his premature-born son on his left arm with the caption that says: 'never surrender'.

He inked the image of his son on his arm in a touching message to Mateo as it has been revealed that City manager Pep Guardiola informed his players to win a crucial title-decider against Tottenham.

The former Valencia star was magnificent for the Citizens last season as he helped them win the Premier League and the English Football League title.

He was granted compassionate leave in December to be with his wife who gave birth to their son just 25 weeks.

During this trying period, Silva dashed back and forth to Valencia, as the new baby Mateo fought through and was released from hospital in May.

After which the midfielder posted an appreciative message to all the staff of Hospital Casa de Salud for saving his son's life.

Meanwhile, in the footage from the new documentary, All or Nothing, released on Amazon Prime today, Guardiola gives his players a speech before their game against Spurs.

Silva said: "He was born 25 weeks, very prematurely. I was very worried all the time, because news could come whenever.

"You look at things a different way, for sure. You learn to prioritise the little things."

And in a video of Silva holding little Mateo, when City celebrated winning the title, he said: "Hi everyone.

"I want to apologise for not being able to celebrate the title with you today. I want to say thanks to my fans, team-mates, staff, club, especially to the manager for understanding this situation, you are a top human being.

"I will be in debt with you forever, so thank you very much."

Pep, 47, said: "Today you have to win for one reason. You have to win for David Silva and his girlfriend.

"He's f***ing suffering tonight. When you go out there, you enjoy. Enjoy for him. If you go out there and we suffer, then suffer for him. Is that clear?"

The Manchester City documentary All or Nothing is released on Amazon Prime today. previously reported that David Silva was extremely thankful to the hospital staff after his prematurely-born son was released on Tuesday, May 15.

Mateo was born in December, a few months before his due date – reasons he was kept at the hospital until yesterday when he was discharged.

Meanwhile, the Spain international has described the period as the ‘long five months’, as he had to shuttle between the team and the hospital to be there for his family.
