Abayomi Shogunle asks Nigerians to post clips of police brutality

The director of police public complaint rapid response unit, Abayomi Shogunle, has challenged Nigerians to provide video proofs of police brutality in the country.

Shogunle, who is an assistant commissioner of police, made the challenge on Sunday, August 12, and stated that he will give the sum of N25,000 each for four videos showing Nigerian police officers brutalising people as shared in a video of police brutality in Baltimore.

He said: “I believe Nigeria policemen don’t do this, I will give ₦25k each to four videos showing NPF officers doing SAME THING in video."

Meanwhile, the Department of State Services (DSS), on Monday, August 13, denied the claim that N21 billion and some Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) were found in the house of its sacked Director General, Lawal Daura.

According to the DSS, the video from which the story making the round concerning the alleged discovery emanated is fake.

The Punch reports that a statement by Tony Opuiyo, its spokesperson in Abuja, confirmed that there was no truth in the allegation that N21billion and unspecified number of PVCs were found in Daura’s houses.
