AC Milan target Manchester United striker Anthony Martial

- Anthony Martial could make a move to AC Milan this summer

- The Serie A giants are targeting the Manchester United attacker

- Reports suggest United could let go if the right offer is made

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is a summer transfer target for AC Milan, according to the latest transfer rumours from Italy.

Italian new media outfit La Repubblica suggest the Serie A giants are keen to add a superstar signing this summer and have identified Martial as a leading candidate.

The player's agent earlier in the summer revealed the Frenchman was keen to leave Old Trafford after being frustrated at a lack of playing time.

The 22-year-old did not feature in the Premier League opener against Leicester City despite Jose Mourinho insisting he could have brought on the forward.

It is suggested that the Frenchman could only leave if AC Milan paid considerably over his transfer valuation.

United had reportedly missed out on a deal for Yerry Mina because they did not approve of Barcelona's insistence to include a buyback clause.

According to The Times, Mourinho even personally phoned Mina in an effort to conclude a deal, but was put off by unproductive negotiations with the Catalan club.

The Red Devils were unable to conclude a deal for a new center-back before the closure of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported Anthony Martial was left on the bench in Manchester United's Premier League opener at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils forced into using other options.

United gaffer Jose Mourinho claims he “needed six changes not three” in his side's season opener, with Anthony Martial seeing no game as other options had to take priority.
