Nigeria's Joel Obi joins Chievo on a 3-year deal from Torino

- Super Eagles midfielder Joel Chukwuma Obi has joined Chievo Verona on a three-year deal

- The 27-year-old was on the wish-list of several Italian clubs in the summer transfer window

- The former Inter Milan ace will wear the No. 22 jersey at Chievo Verona

Italian topflight side Chievo Verona have unveiled Super Eagles midfielder Joel Chukwuma Obi after sealing an agreement with Serie A rivals AS Torino.

According to reports coming out of the Italian club, who previously paid the salaries of Victor Obinna Nsofor and Stephen Ayodele Makinwa, revealed Obi initially penned a three-year contract with an option for a further year.

The 27-year-old versatile midfielder ended his three-year union with Torino to join the Flying Donkeys ahead of the new Serie A campaign.

The Nigeria international was on the wish-list other Italian clubs in the summer transfer window as he is classified as a home grown player after he was first registered by Inter Milan in 2005 at the age of 14.

Obi marked his professional debut for the San Siro outfit in their 4-0 win over Werder Bremen of Germany in September 2010 but spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Parma.

Obi, who was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the summer World Cup in Russia cut ties with Inter in the summer of 2015 after joining Torino, will wear the No. 22 jersey at Chievo Verona.

At the last count, the injury-prone midfielder has a magnificent record of 110 games in Serie A, eight in the UEFA Champions League and six in the Europa League.

Obi is expected to make his competitive debut for Chievo Verona in their Serie A opener against champions Juventus on August 18.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that fans of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr trooped to the airport to welcome Super Eagles striker Ahmed Musa.

The Nigerian international made a summer move to the Middle East club from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

The Super Eagles forward was the Foxes' record signing when he moved to the King Power Stadium for £16.6million in 2016.
