Barcelona break transfer record after making £111m from summer sales

Despite signing a number of players during this summer transfer window, Spanish League giants Barcelona have been able to recoup the money they spent in buying those players.

The Camp Nou outfit spent a total of £113.31 million in signing Arturo Vidal, Malcom, Clement Lenglet and Arthur Melo this summer.

However, they made a sum of £111 million to balance their books after offloading nine players to different clubs across the globe.

Six of those players were permanently sold while the remaining three were sent on loan with the club making a record-breaking €124million (£111m) from sales. It is the most they have ever earned from outgoings in one window.

Premier League clubs poached most of the players from the Spanish League side with Gerard Deulofeu joining Watford winger in a £13m deal.

While the duo of Lucas Digne (£18m), Yerry Mina (£28.5m) joined Everton in a permanent deal and Andre Gomes will spend this season on loan at the Goodison Park for just £2m.
